Cycle Hungary

In August 2011, a group of eight cyclists completed a long weekend, 200 mile challenge round Lake Balaton in Hungary. Lake Balaton is the largest lake in Central Europe and one of its foremost tourist destinations. We chose Hungary because Conductive Education, the specialist system of learning used at our centre and school, originated there. Many of our staff are Hungarian and two Conductors were in our group.

We flew to Hungary on Friday 26 August, cycled Saturday to Monday (Bank Holiday in the UK) and flew home on Tuesday 30 August. Bikes were transported by road in the van which provided our support during the ride. Everyone greatly enjoyed the event and the beautiful scenery. An amazing £12,510 was raised.

Our thanks go to each cyclist who pedaled hard in the summer heat to complete the challenge and to our van supporters who drove many miles and catered for our cyclists. We also thank everyone who sponsored the group.
